Here are a few shots I took of some baby cardinals I took in my backyard. I was amazed at how quick they grew. Literally in just a few days they went from almost no feathers to leaving the nest and hopping along the ground practicing to fly. Amazing what you can find in your own backyard.

Keeping it simple- iPhone 4s photos
I love shooting with my large DSLR but the reality of it is a large camera is hard to carry and you don't always have it on you. Problem solved use your camera phone and be creative. I have found myself taking more pictures then ever with my iPhone 4s. I am sure most of you have heard that the camera is amazing and I am here to second that but what amazes me even more is the ability to edit photos and be creative with the apps that are available. All the images here were taken and edited right on my iPhone. My favorite apps are Camera+, AutoStitch, PS Express, and Snapseed. I am also loving Instagram as a way to share my randomness.
Enjoy,

Macro fun in my yard

I woke up a couple days ago and saw that the screw pine in my front yard had flowered. This is the first time I have seen this so today I pulled out my Nikon 105mm 2.8 micro lens. Here are my favorites. I did a little cropping but not much, definitely a bit nerve wracking having these bees swarm all around me.
Enjoy,
John
